Navigating the New Frontier: AI, Partnerships & the Human Advantage

This month, we had the privilege of attending Ultimate Partner Live for the first time. A gathering of some of the brightest minds in the Microsoft and partner ecosystem.

We walked in curious and walked out energized and reassured.

Reassured that in a world moving at the speed of AI, human skills are still our greatest differentiator.

AI Has Officially Moved to the Head of the Table

Every conversation pointed in the same direction: AI is no longer a side project or emerging initiative. It’s becoming a core component of strategy, productivity, client service, and even how we think.

We heard big truths about what’s next for our industry:

  • AI isn’t replacing humans. It’s amplifying the ones who are ready.
  • Data readiness, security, and governance remain the foundation of every successful AI initiative.
  • The organizations that build strong partner ecosystems (not silos) will move fastest.

One statistic that stood out to us from the event:

80% of the work in partner ecosystems hasn’t been digitized yet and AI is re-wiring how value flows.

– Jay McBain

Translation? There is an unprecedented opportunity for those who lean in now.

But with all this acceleration, something interesting happened:

The most impactful conversations weren’t just about models, copilots, or marketplaces.

They were about people.

From “Soft Skills” to Power Skills

During a session on leadership, one speaker said something we loved:

AI might automate tasks, but humans lead people.

What we once called ‘soft skills’ – empathy, communication, storytelling, and intuition are now being referred to as Power Skills because they determine who thrives in this environment.

As Microsoft leaders shared, power skills help us:

  • Build trust
  • Navigate ambiguity
  • Pause before reacting
  • Communicate with clarity (not just with acronyms!)
  • Stay human in a digital world

One quote I brought home with me comes from Tiffany Wallace, Educate360:

You can manage tasks, but you must lead people.

Tiffany Wallace, Educate360

That resonated because AI will make us faster.
But empathy will make us better.

So, What Does This Mean for You?

Whether you’re a client, a partner, a leader, or simply curious about what AI means for your work, here’s my biggest takeaway:

Everything we’re feeling right now – the excitement, the overwhelm, the questions is a signal of possibility.

  • If you’re frustrated, there’s likely an answer.
  • If you’re curious, there’s an opportunity.
  • If you’re overwhelmed, you’re not alone and we can help.

The right questions unlock transformation:

  • How can AI help our team work smarter, not harder?
  • Where can automation free people for higher-value work?
  • What skills do we need to strengthen – technical and human?
  • How do we prepare our data and security for this new era?

This isn’t about replacing your workforce.
It’s about elevating your workforce.

Let’s Explore What’s Possible — Together

If you’re wondering:

  • How AI fits into your business
  • Where to start with governance and security
  • How to upskill your team for this next chapter
  • Or what tools like Copilot can do for your organization

Reach out. Even if you’re still “just curious.” Curiosity is the first step to capability.

We don’t need to have all the answers; we need to be willing to ask the right questions and build together.
